Noida International Airport (Jewar Airport) – Key Facts

📍 Location:

Located in Jewar, Gautam Buddha Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh, near Greater Noida and along the Yamuna Expressway corridor.

The airport’s official inauguration was scheduled very soon in December 2025.

Commercial flight operations are expected to begin within ~45 days after inauguration

Initially flights will connect at least 10 major Indian cities (including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata, etc.) in the first phase.

📈 Size & Capacity:

• Phase-1 is designed to handle about 12 million passengers per year.

• Long-term plans include expansion to multiple runways and tens of millions of passengers annually as traffic grows.

• Airlines like IndiGo, Akasa Air, and potentially Air India Express have been in discussions for operations.

• Flight plans mainly include domestic destinations initially, with international flights expected to come later once full facilities and clearances complete.

• The airport is directly accessible via the Yamuna Expressway, which makes travel from Noida, Greater Noida, Delhi NCR relatively straightforward.

Future Rail & Transit:

• Plans are underway to connect the airport via rapid rail or metro lines, likely linking to Delhi-NCR through corridors such as Sarai Kale Khan and Noida City Centre.

• Multi-modal transport hubs (including buses, taxis, and ride-hailing) are planned to integrate with airport operations over coming years.

📌 Why Noida International Airport Matters

1. Second Major NCR Airport:
It will be the second full-scale commercial airport for the National Capital Region, complementing Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.
